Dear Resident,
It's half term at the West Midlands Police Museum and we've got lots on over the weekend! It's the perfect opportunity to escape the rain and keep the kids entertained for hours! Join the Anthony Nolan Stem Cell Register in the Museum: Tomorrow (Friday 20th Feb) the West Midlands Police Museum is hosting a #StemCellRegister event in partnership with Anthony Nolan. Many who join the register may never be contacted, but those who are matched to someone in need of stem cell treatment may just save a life! Pop in to the West Midlands Police Museum on Steelhouse Lane, Birmingham, between 10 am - 4 pm and sign up to do something amazing! The Anthony Nolan register is for those aged 16-30. If you're 30+ head over to the DKMS website to learn how you can join the register. During the tour young guests will learn how wrongdoers in the Birmingham of old were dealt with, from spending the night at the Lock-Up before an appearance in front of the magistrate the next morning, and then often a trial at court. Along the way we’ll hear about real-life crimes, such as the man who sold ten stones of rotten fish at his chip shop, and the monkey who spent the night at the Lock-Up after causing trouble the streets of Birmingham. There are spaces still available tomorrow and Saturday, book here: Family Friendly Walking Tour -
Lunar New Year - Celebrating the year of the horse Included in your Museum entry ticket you will find plenty of interactive activities for all the family. In our education space we have hobby-horse racing where budding Mounted Officers can try their luck at our obstacle course! Throughout your visit, the whole family can follow our Mounted Unit trail and join in with Lunar New Year crafts.
